A pedometer, as it is also called, is a device for counting steps. The models differ in the way the pedometer is carried and in the extent of its functions. Most step counters are worn at the waistband or belt, at hip height, but there are also models that can be carried around the neck or even in the trouser bag. There are also multifunctional step counters to choose from, which calculate the number of steps, the distance, the calorie consumption or the time in motion.
