Most premium flashlight brands have a clear positioning : tactical-pro (Surefire), tool-image with ANSI standards (Fenix), or outdoor lifestyle (Olight). Nitecore positions itself differently – through innovation and design leadership. SYSMAX Innovations Co. Ltd. (Singapore) is the only flashlight brand worldwide to have won all four major international design awards : the German iF Design Award, the Red Dot Design Award, the Japanese G-Mark, and the American IDEA. ISPO and Outstanding Outdoor add to that for outdoor-specific innovation. These accolades are not just trophies – they shape product development. Where other manufacturers iterate on existing designs, Nitecore typically delivers an industry first every year.
Concrete examples from company history : 2008, the first AA LED flashlight with stepless brightness adjustment (NDI). 2009, the first flashlight with Smart Piston Drive system (D10) – operated via the battery as switch. 2011, the world’s smallest 2'000-lumen searchlight (TM11). Later, the first carbon-fibre power banks of the NB series, defining a new weight-to-capacity ratio with under 300 g for 20'000 mAh. And in 2024, the NH2400 series : first 1.5V Li-Ion AA batteries with USB-C direct charging built into the cell. If you look for a brand that doesn’t just deliver the proven but often presents the next generation, you’re right with Nitecore.
The second core principle is range breadth. While competitors focus on flashlights, Nitecore builds a full outdoor power ecosystem : lights, power banks, batteries, chargers, EDC tools, backpacks, bite healers, signal whistles. If you buy an NB20000 Gen3 power bank, an NTP30 titanium pen as EDC tool, and an EDC35 as flashlight, you have the same brand promise across three different product categories.
Nitecore organises its range by clear letter codes. Here are the key series :
Compact lights with a flat profile for trouser pocket and belt clip. Example models : EDC27 (3'000 lumens, ultra-flat), EDC29 (6'500 lumens – one of the brightest EDC lights on the market), EDC31 (3'500 lumens, IP68), EDC33 (4'000 lumens), EDC35 (5'000 lumens, 550 m beam distance). Profile : remarkably flat body so the light doesn’t protrude in the pocket, USB-C direct charging and proprietary UHi LED technology for higher lumens-per-watt efficiency.
Tactical all-rounders for police, security and professional outdoor work. Example models : P10iX, P20iX (4'000 lumens, 21700 battery, USB-C). Profile : tail switch for strobe and momentary, side switch for mode selection, crenellated bezel, strike-bezel function. The P20iX is one of the most-recommended tactical lights for Swiss security personnel in this lumen class.
Rechargeable tactical lights for extended professional use. Example models : MH12 Pro, MH20, MH20GT. Profile : more compact than the P series but with a battery system close to ARB-class (NL series 18650/21700), often with a beam-spread reflector for a wider beam than pure tactical lights.
Searchlight class. Example models : TM10K, TM39, TM12K. Profile : up to 12'000+ lumens, beam distances over 1'000 m, OLED display showing battery status and mode. The TM series is Nitecore’s answer to the LR class of competitors.
Mini EDC for the keyring. Profile : USB-C direct charging, integrated battery, OLED display (TINI 2 SS), under 30 g weight. Functionally between emergency backup and daily use.
Headlamps for outdoor and professional use. NU series is lighter (trail running, camping), HC/HA series is more rugged (bushcraft, mountain rescue, industry). Example models : NU25 V2, NU33, HC65, HC60. Profile : red-light mode to preserve night vision, USB-C charging, often with reserve-battery option (AA or built-in).
Specialty lights with infrared or UV output. Example models : CI4, CI7. Applications : forensics, wildlife observation with night-vision device, UV inspection. A niche covered by virtually no other flashlight brand.
Nitecore essentially defined the carbon-fibre power bank category. Example models : NB10000 Gen3 / Gen4 (10'000 mAh, 22.5 W, ca. 150 g), NB20000 Gen3 (20'000 mAh, 22.5 W, 291 g – one of the lightest 20'000-mAh power banks on the market), CARBO 10000 (10'000 mAh, 20 W). Profile : carbon fibre cuts the weight-to-capacity ratio by 30–40 % versus aluminium housings. For backpacking, bikepacking and multi-day tours a clear advantage.
18650 and 21700 Li-Ion batteries with integrated protection. Example models : NL1840 (18650, 4'000 mAh), NL2160 (21700, 6'000 mAh), NL2160HP (high-drain variant for tactical lights). Profile : protection against deep discharge, overcharge and short circuit.
One of the more original innovations : AA-format batteries with 1.5V Li-Ion chemistry instead of the usual 1.2V NiMH. Example model : NH2400 (4-pack, USB-C direct charging in the cell itself). Advantage : constant 1.5V over the entire discharge curve (NiMH already drops to 1.2V after 30 %), USB-C charging without external charger. For devices that require 1.5V (blood-pressure monitors, radios, keyboards) this is a real step up.
Tactical pens and mini knives in titanium or aluminium. Example models : NTP30 (titanium tactical pen), NTP31 (aluminium tactical pen), NTK05 (mini titanium keychain knife), NTK10 (titanium knife). Profile : 6Al4V titanium, glass-breaker tip (NTP), functional pen cartridge. For EDC enthusiasts, a complete range from a single brand.

From experience these are the bestselling Nitecore products in Switzerland. They show clearly why Nitecore is a multi-category brand :
You’ll find the full flashlight range under LED flashlights, all headlamps under headlamps.
Nitecore is the only flashlight brand worldwide to have won all four major design awards : iF (Germany), Red Dot (Germany), G-Mark (Japan), IDEA (USA). These awards aren’t bought – juries of international designers assess functionality, usability, material choice and innovation. That feeds directly back into product quality.
Like all serious premium manufacturers, Nitecore measures lumens per the ANSI/PLATO FL1 standard : 30 seconds after switch-on, in stable thermal state, with the supplied battery. A Nitecore EDC29 rated at „6'500 lumens“ delivers 6'500 ANSI lumens. With no-name lights such ratings are often peak output that drops by half within 5–10 seconds.
A proprietary Nitecore technology that monitors LED temperature in real time and adjusts output dynamically – protecting the LED without throttling early. In practice : Nitecore lights often hold maximum brightness longer than competitors before stepping down for thermal reasons.
Aluminium power banks have a physically fixed weight floor for their capacity. Carbon fibre breaks that floor – the Nitecore NB20000 Gen3 weighs 291 g for 20'000 mAh, about 30 % less than comparable aluminium power banks. On multi-day outdoor tours, every gram counts.
SYSMAX Innovations provides 5 years of warranty against material and manufacturing defects on most flashlight models. Batteries and power banks have shorter warranties (typically 12 months). We handle warranty cases through our Swiss warehouse – you don’t need to ship anything to China.

Nitecore runs its own battery and charging ecosystem with protection circuits. Key components :
Most USB-C-rechargeable lights ship with the matching battery in the box. For multi-day tours with tactical lights, a spare NL battery is worth carrying.
We are an authorised Swiss dealer for Nitecore and stock the current range from our warehouse in Menzingen ZG. Concretely :
Nitecore models appear in our main categories flashlights and headlamps, with all current filter options.
For EDC and daily carry the Nitecore EDC35 is the Swiss top pick : 5'000 lumens, 550 m beam distance, ultra-flat housing, USB-C direct charging. It fits in your pocket without protruding and works as both EDC and outdoor light. If you need a noticeably larger tactical light, the P20iX with 4'000 lumens and 21700 battery is the choice. For maximum brightness in EDC format, the EDC29 delivers 6'500 lumens.
EDC = Everyday Carry (flat body for daily use). P = Precise (tactical all-rounder). MH = Multitask Hybrid (rechargeable tactical, more compact than P). TM = Tiny Monster (searchlight, highest output). NU = Headlamp Lightweight (trail running, camping). HC/HA = Headlamp Heavy-Duty (bushcraft, industry). TINI/TIP = Keychain. CI = Concealed Infrared (UV/IR specialty). NB & CARBO = carbon-fibre power banks. NL = Li-Ion 18650/21700 batteries. NH = 1.5V Li-Ion AA. NTP/NTK = titanium EDC tools. The letter system is consistent – choose the series first, then the model.
Three points. First, the carbon-fibre housing : the NB20000 Gen3 weighs 291 g for 20'000 mAh, about 30 % less than typical aluminium or plastic power banks of the same capacity. Second, voltage stability : USB-C PD with 22.5 W constant output even at 80 % discharge. Third, safety certifications : UN38.3 (air-transport approved), CE, RoHS, FCC. If you fly regularly or take the power bank in checked baggage, you’re on the safe side with Nitecore.
Standard NiMH AA batteries deliver 1.2V and continue dropping during discharge. Many devices (blood-pressure monitors, radios, wireless keyboards) expect a constant 1.5V like alkaline cells. Nitecore NH2400 are Li-Ion cells in AA format with an integrated step-down regulator that delivers a constant 1.5V – until the cell is practically empty. Plus USB-C direct charging in the cell itself, so you don’t need an external charger. The 4-pack is especially worthwhile for devices that don’t run reliably on 1.2V NiMH.
The P series is classic tactical : tail switch for strobe, strike bezel, larger body, often 21700 battery. The MH series is the more compact rechargeable tactical variant : smaller and lighter, with side switch and beam-spread reflector for a wider beam. If you need a tactical light for security work, choose P. If you want a compact all-rounder that sits between tactical and EDC, choose MH.
The NU series. The NU25 V2 weighs only 65 g and delivers 400 lumens with triple output (white, red, high-output white). For longer and faster runs, the NU33 is the next step up (700 lumens). If you also do bushcraft or mountain rescue, choose the HC65 or HC60 from the HC series instead – more rugged, but a little heavier. Both series have a red-light mode to preserve night vision.
Practically all flashlight models are IP68 certified – that means 30 minutes at 2 m water depth without water ingress. Headlamps in the NU and HC series are often IP66 or IP67 (rain- and splash-proof but not for diving). Power banks generally have no IP rating and should stay dry. When in doubt check the IP class on the product page – it’s always stated.
ATR stands for Active Temperature Regulation – a proprietary Nitecore technology that monitors LED temperature in real time and adjusts output dynamically. Where many flashlights step down drastically after 30–60 seconds at maximum, an ATR-controlled light holds brightness as high as possible without damaging the LED. In practice : longer consistent brightness on turbo mode, fewer step-downs, more controlled battery discharge.
Tactical pens are generally freely available and carriable in Switzerland as writing instruments. They don’t fall under Weapons Act Art. 4 WG because they have no blade and are primarily designed as writing instruments. The glass-breaker tip is intended as an emergency-exit tool (vehicle window in emergencies). For daily use as writing tool and EDC item there are no legal restrictions. Still check house rules (airport, courthouse) for their own regulations.
SYSMAX provides 5 years of manufacturer warranty against material and manufacturing defects on most Nitecore flashlights. Power banks and batteries have shorter warranty periods – typically 12 months, some NB power banks 24 months. For warranty claims we handle repair or replacement through our Swiss warehouse – you don’t need to send anything back to China. Plus a 30-day voluntary return policy without reason if the product doesn’t suit you.
Three rules of thumb. For daypack and daily use the NB10000 Gen4 or CARBO 10000 with 10'000 mAh and ca. 150 g is enough – charges a smartphone a good two times. For multi-day tours or if you also want to charge tablet/laptop, take the NB20000 Gen3 with 20'000 mAh and 291 g – one of the lightest 20er power banks on the market. For air travel all Nitecore power banks are under 100 Wh and therefore allowed in carry-on (UN38.3 certified).
