For everyday use and short distances, 150–500 lumens are sufficient. For outdoor activities such as hiking or camping, we recommend 800–1,600 lumens. For tactical operations 2,000–4,000 lumens and for search & rescue 3,000 lumens or more.

IP68 means complete protection against dust and submersion in water (up to 2 metres depth on most models). The flashlight works reliably even in heavy rain or after being dropped in water. Not all models achieve IP68 – check the protection rating on the respective product.
Yes, most current Fenix and Nitecore models feature an integrated USB-C charging port. You can charge the light directly via a USB-C cable from a power bank, laptop or mains adapter – no separate charger required. Olight uses a proprietary magnetic charging system.
EDC flashlights (Everyday Carry) are compact, lightweight and optimised for daily use. Tactical models additionally offer instant access to strobe and momentary-on, higher output levels and are designed for professional use by security forces.
Runtime depends on the selected brightness level. In eco mode, many models achieve over 100 hours; in turbo mode it is typically 1–3 hours depending on the model. The 21700 batteries with up to 6,000 mAh offer the longest runtime.
