The name Amare comes from Italian and means “to love” – and that very passion is forged into every knife the brand creates. Amare Knives designs folding and fixed-blade knives for outdoor use, hunting, bushcraft and everyday carry (EDC). Behind each design stands experienced blade designer Udo Hennicke, who together with knife experts such as Jürgen Sohnemann conceives every model from scratch. The result: knives with distinctive character, well-considered ergonomics and premium materials – at a fair price.
With the A-Joint System, Amare Knives has developed its own proprietary folding mechanism. The dual-spring system enables fast, secure opening and closing of the blade – without a traditional lock. The blade remains safely secured when folded yet offers a longer blade length than conventional slip-joint systems. The A-Joint System complies with German weapons law and combines everyday practicality with innovative engineering. Models such as the Paragon and Folding Creator feature this mechanism.
Amare Knives stands for knife design with conviction. Every model starts as a sketch on the drawing board of experienced blade designers and undergoes a meticulous development process. The steel selection – from Swedish Sandvik 14C28N through Japanese VG10 to American CPM S35VN – is consistently guided by the intended application. Handle materials such as G10, titanium, carbon fibre and Sheesham wood are chosen for feel, weight and durability. The result is knives that don’t just work – they inspire.
The Amare Knives range covers a broad spectrum of applications. The compact A-Max with Sandvik 14C28N steel and Kydex sheath serves as a lightweight backup knife. The FieldBro with its VG10 blade and ambidextrous LR lock is a versatile everyday companion. For demanding outdoor missions, the DURO Expedition One with Böhler K110 steel and convex grind delivers maximum toughness. And the Track with CPM S35VN and titanium handle scales sets new standards in the premium segment. Every model reflects the signature of its designer.
A standout in the range is the “Sechster Finger” (Sixth Finger / 6.F) series: a compact full-tang knife without handle scales whose special geometry lets it sit in the hand like an additional finger. Developed in collaboration with Jürgen Sohnemann, the 6.F design allows continuous work without ever setting the knife down – ideal for forestry, hunting and situations with limited visibility or unstable footing. Available as Serration, Spearpoint and Droppoint variants.
