Alpino is a heritage Belgian tent brand that has been crafting premium camping tents since 1903. What began as a saddlery and tarpaulin workshop in Ronse (Renaix) evolved from 1959 into one of Europe’s most respected tent manufacturers. Alpino stands for classic tent shapes reinterpreted with modern materials and thoughtful construction. All tents are made from 100 % cotton – breathable, long-lasting and weather-resistant. At Swiss-Sale.ch you will find a selection of the finest Alpino camping tents for two to four people.
The heart of every Alpino tent is its fabric: 100 % premium cotton that undergoes extensive testing. Unlike synthetic materials, cotton naturally regulates the climate inside the tent – pleasantly cool on hot summer days and comfortably warm on cold nights. The fabrics receive REACH-compliant finishing treatments for waterproofness, colourfastness and mildew resistance. The result: a tent that grows more beautiful with the years and can last for generations.
Alpino’s story begins in 1903 in Ronse (Belgium) as “Établissements Heddebaut” – a factory producing oils, leather goods and tarpaulins. Drawing on its expertise in premium tarpaulins, the company launched its first tent collection under the Alpino name in 1959. Expedition tents for extreme environments followed – from Patagonia to the South Pole. In 1988 Alpino invented the Canopy system, a revolutionary quick-pitch shelter. Since 2020 Alpino has been part of the World of Tents group, combining over a century of tent-making experience with cutting-edge development – all tents continue to be designed and manufactured at the original workshop in Ronse.
Designed in the late 1960s for Belgian mountaineers, the Everest remains the very embodiment of Alpino. With its distinctive retro look and compact dimensions, it is perfect for adventurous couples or solo campers who want to travel in comfort. Both inner and outer tent are made from 100 % cotton, while the aluminium poles are lightweight yet sturdy. Front and rear entrances feature high-quality mosquito mesh with a dual-zip system for optimum ventilation.
Awarded the prestigious Signe d’Or in the 1970s – a hallmark of outstanding design and quality – the Hoggar is the ideal 2–3-person tent. It strikes the perfect balance between roominess and portability. The poles run outside the inner tent, allowing the inner and outer tent to be used separately – in heavy rain the inner tent can be rolled up dry while the outer tent provides shelter.
Originally conceived in the 1980s as an expedition tent, the Kangourou now accompanies groups of up to four on outdoor adventures. With its generous living space, hard-wearing PVC groundsheet and robust aluminium poles, the Kangourou handles demanding camping conditions with ease. The dual-zip system on both entrances ensures perfect ventilation and insect protection alike.
