For lightweight trekking and bushcraft we recommend the Superlight tents from Grand Canyon or the Snugpak Ionosphere – both weigh under 2 kg and provide reliable weather protection. For more demanding tours, Husky trekking tents are an excellent choice with higher storm resistance.
Hammocks are ideal for wooded areas: they require no flat ground, protect from ground moisture and provide a complete sleeping system when combined with a tarp and mosquito net. Tents are more versatile and also suitable for treeless regions such as high mountains or open landscapes.
For summer a lightweight sleeping bag with a comfort temperature around +10 °C is sufficient. For spring and autumn we recommend 3-season models rated to –5 °C. For winter camping and expeditions, extreme models from Snugpak with comfort ratings to –20 °C and below are essential. Always check the EN 13537 comfort temperature.
A bivvy bag is a waterproof, breathable shell for your sleeping bag. It protects against wind, rain and condensation and increases the warmth of your sleeping bag by several degrees. As emergency equipment it is indispensable, and for bivouacking it often replaces the tent.
