Optimus offers screw-on cartridges (EN417 thread) in three sizes: 100 g for short weekend tours, 230 g as the standard for multi-day tours and 450 g for longer expeditions or group cooking. The cartridges fit all stoves with an EN417 screw valve.

Bio Fuel

BCB FireDragon bio solid fuel is a non-toxic, biodegradable alternative to conventional fuel tablets. It is ideal for use with BCB cookers, emergency kits and anywhere gas is unavailable.

Replacement Filters for Water Purifiers

FAQ – Outdoor Kitchen Accessories

Which gas cartridges fit my stove?

Optimus gas cartridges use the standardised EN417 screw valve and fit all stoves with this thread – including Optimus, MSR, Jetboil and many other brands. Piercing cartridges are not compatible.

How often should I change my water purifier filter?

This depends on the model and water quality. Katadyn recommends changing the activated carbon every 200–400 litres, the BeFree EZ-Clean filter every 1,000 litres. LifeSaver specifies a lifespan of 2,000 to 20,000 litres depending on the model.

Is BCB FireDragon fuel non-toxic?

Yes, FireDragon is based on ethanol from renewable resources and is non-toxic, low-odour and biodegradable. It can safely be used indoors – unlike hexamine-based fuel tablets.

Can I use the Kelly Kettle Hobo Stove without a Kelly Kettle?

The Hobo Stove is designed as an attachment for the Kelly Kettle fire base. Without this base it cannot stand stably. It is not intended as a standalone hobo cooker.

How should I store gas cartridges safely?

Store gas cartridges in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. The temperature should not exceed 50 °C. When stored correctly, they have a virtually unlimited shelf life.
