10,000 mAh in 143 g – Competition-grade power bank with silicon-carbon battery for outdoor and everyday use
10,000 mAh in 143 g – the NB10000 Gen4 from Nitecore
The Nitecore NB10000 Gen4 is the lightest and most powerful generation of the NB10000 series to date – and the first power bank worldwide with silicon-carbon anode cells. With a capacity of 10,000 mAh, a weight of 143 g, and an energy density of 273 mWh/g, it delivers up to 6,800 mAh of usable energy – comparable to a standard 13,000 mAh power bank. The double-sided carbon fiber housing with flame-retardant composite frame, IPX7 certification, and knock-to-wake system with RGB position lights make the NB10000 Gen4 the ideal companion for trail runners, mountaineers, travelers, and anyone who needs reliable power on every adventure.
Competition-grade · Silicon-carbon technology
Next-gen cell chemistry – more energy, less weight
Standard lithium polymer cells have almost reached their limits. The NB10000 Gen4 relies on silicon-carbon anode cells with 8% ultra-high silicon content – the same technology used in today's flagship smartphones from Apple and Samsung. The result: 273 mWh/g energy density compared to 257 mWh/g for standard LiPo, 6% more stored energy per gram, and a significantly longer service life thanks to lower heat generation during charging. In practice, this means up to 20% more usable energy compared to the previous generation – with even less weight.
Dual USB-C – 22.5 W fast charging via both ports
The NB10000 Gen4 is the first in the NB10000 series to feature two USB-C ports (OUT1 & OUT2), both of which deliver 22.5 W output power and support PD and QC. The power bank itself can also be charged at up to 22.5 W via USB-C. When both ports are used simultaneously, the total output is 15 W. The pass-through function allows you to charge a device while the power bank itself is being charged. The lanyard USB-C cable (5 g) is included and supports up to 60 W – it also serves as a carrying strap for easy transport on a backpack or belt.
Knock to Wake & RGB position lights – intuitive even at night
A simple tap on the housing – even with gloves on – activates the Knock to Wake function and immediately displays the charge level. The illuminated USB-C ports with RGB position lights make connecting cables a breeze even in the dark, without the need for a separate light source. The function can be deactivated if necessary. Both features have been specially developed for use in ultra-runs, night tours, and bivouacs.
IPX7 & carbon housing – built for real-world conditions
The NB10000 Gen4 is IPX7 certified and can withstand submersion in up to 1 meter of water for 30 minutes. The housing, made of carbon fiber plates on both sides and a flame-retardant composite frame, reliably protects the battery cells from torsion, shocks, and mechanical stress – even when dropped on hard surfaces. Rain, sweat, splashes, and brief submersion are no problem for the NB10000 Gen4.
Airline-approved for worldwide travel
With a capacity of 39 Wh, the NB10000 Gen4 is well below the international aviation limit of 100 Wh and meets the UN38.3 standard for the air transport of lithium-ion batteries. It is approved as carry-on luggage on all scheduled flights worldwide. Like all lithium-ion batteries, it must not be transported in checked baggage.

Frequently Asked Questions about the Nitecore NB10000 Gen4
What makes the Nitecore NB10000 Gen4 special?
The NB10000 Gen4 is the world's first power bank with silicon-carbon anode cells. With 10,000 mAh capacity at just 143 g, its higher energy density of 273 mWh/g delivers up to 6,800 mAh of usable energy – comparable to a standard 13,000 mAh power bank. It also features dual USB-C ports with 22.5 W fast charging, IPX7 water resistance, a carbon housing, and the innovative knock-to-wake function with RGB positioning lights.
What is the difference between silicon-carbon and standard LiPo cells?
Standard lithium polymer (LiPo) cells have nearly reached their energy density limit. Silicon-carbon anode cells with 8% ultra-high silicon content store 6% more energy per gram (273 mWh/g vs. 257 mWh/g), generate less heat during charging, and retain their capacity better over 500+ charge cycles. The same technology is used in flagship smartphones from Apple and Samsung.
Which devices can I charge with the NB10000 Gen4?
The NB10000 Gen4 charges all devices with a USB-C port: smartphones, tablets, headphones, cameras, GPS devices, Nitecore headlamps and torches, and other compatible electronics. Both USB-C ports can be used simultaneously, with total output limited to 15 W in this case.
Does the NB10000 Gen4 support fast charging?
Yes. The NB10000 Gen4 supports Power Delivery (PD 3.0) and Quick Charge (QC 3.0). Both USB-C ports deliver up to 22.5 W output. The input accepts up to 22.5 W for recharging. The included lanyard USB-C cable supports up to 60 W.
What is the knock-to-wake function?
A simple knock on the housing – even with gloves – activates the battery level display of the NB10000 Gen4 without pressing a button. The illuminated USB-C ports with RGB positioning lights make connecting cables easy even in the dark. The function can be disabled if needed.
Is the NB10000 Gen4 waterproof?
Yes. The NB10000 Gen4 is IPX7 certified and withstands submersion up to 1 metre depth for 30 minutes. It is suitable for use in rain, snow, and wet environments. After submersion, the power bank should be thoroughly dried before charging.
Is the NB10000 Gen4 airline approved?
Yes. At 39 Wh, the NB10000 Gen4 is well below the international aviation limit of 100 Wh and meets the UN38.3 standard. It is approved as carry-on luggage on all commercial flights worldwide. Like all lithium-ion batteries, it must not be transported in checked baggage.
Can I charge and discharge the NB10000 Gen4 simultaneously (pass-through)?
Yes. The NB10000 Gen4 supports pass-through charging: the power bank can be charged via one port while the other port simultaneously powers an external device. This is practical when only one power outlet is available.
What is the difference between the NB10000 Gen4 and the NB Plus?
Both power banks offer 10,000 mAh and a carbon housing with IPX7 protection. The NB10000 Gen4 uses the new silicon-carbon cell chemistry for higher energy density and more usable energy, weighs less at 143 g vs. 155 g for the NB Plus, and features dual USB-C ports plus the knock-to-wake function with RGB lights. The NB Plus additionally offers a USB-A port.
