Power at −40 °C – when ordinary power banks have long given up

The Nitecore Summit 20000 is a cold-resistant power bank that reliably delivers power even at −40 °C. While conventional Li-ion power banks fail below −10 °C, the Summit 20000 uses specially engineered cell chemistry for extreme cold. 20,000 mAh (77 Wh) in a carbon fiber shell with USB-C (20 W) and USB-A (18 W) output, IPX5 splash protection and 1.5 m drop resistance. Includes an insulation carrying bag for additional cold protection.

Cold resistant to −40 °C

Where other power banks fail – the Summit 20000 keeps delivering

Standard Li-ion cells lose capacity rapidly in cold and shut down around −10 °C. The Summit 20000 uses optimised cell chemistry that still delivers energy to your smartphone, GPS or headlamp at −40 °C. The included insulation carrying bag retains body heat around the device and maximises capacity in extreme cold.

USB-C at 20 W – fast charging even in the cold

The USB-C output delivers up to 20 W (5 V/3 A, 9 V/2.22 A, 12 V/1.68 A) for fast charging. USB-A supports up to 18 W (5 V/3 A, 9 V/2 A, 12 V/1.5 A). Combined dual-port output is 15 W. The USB-C input (5 V/2.4 A, 9 V/2 A) recharges the Summit 20000 – ideally at room temperature for optimal cell longevity.

IPX5 splash protection and 1.5 m drop resistance

The carbon fiber shell with IPX5 splash protection withstands snow, rain and sweat. 1.5 m drop resistance protects the device on rocky terrain. At 77 Wh the Summit 20000 is well below the 100 Wh airline limit – perfect for flying to your next expedition.

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions – Nitecore Summit 20000

Find answers about the Nitecore Summit 20000 power bank – from extreme cold operation and Li-ion safety to air travel, charging times and warranty.

Does the Nitecore Summit 20000 really work at −40 °C?
Yes. The Summit 20000 uses cold-optimised Li-ion cell chemistry that still delivers power at −40 °C. Capacity decreases in extreme cold but the power bank remains functional. The included insulation bag helps maintain temperature.
How do I use the Nitecore Summit 20000 insulation bag correctly?
Place the Summit 20000 in the insulation bag and carry it close to your body – e.g. in an inner jacket pocket. Your body heat keeps the cell temperature higher and maximises available capacity. Route a cable through the opening for charging.
Can I take the Nitecore Summit 20000 on a plane?
Yes. The Summit 20000 has 77 Wh (20,000 mAh × 3.85 V), well below the IATA limit of 100 Wh. Hand luggage allowed, checked baggage prohibited for Li-ion power banks.
How should I store the Nitecore Summit 20000 safely?
Store at room temperature (15–25 °C) at 40–60 % charge. Avoid temperatures above 45 °C. Top up every 3–4 months to prevent deep discharge.
Should I charge the Nitecore Summit 20000 in the cold or at room temperature?
Ideally charge at room temperature (15–25 °C). Charging in extreme cold is possible but reduces efficiency and may shorten cell lifespan. Charge at base camp or in the car before heading into the cold.
Can I charge two devices simultaneously with the Nitecore Summit 20000?
Yes. USB-C and USB-A can be used at the same time. Combined power: 15 W (5 V/3 A). Use a single output for maximum charging speed.
Is the Nitecore Summit 20000 waterproof?
The Summit 20000 is IPX5 rated – protection against water jets. It is not designed for submersion. Snow and rain are no problem; keep USB ports dry.
What happens if the Nitecore Summit 20000 overheats?
Built-in overcharge, short-circuit, overheat and overvoltage protection. Electronics throttle output or shut down if a safe temperature is exceeded.
How many times can the Nitecore Summit 20000 charge a smartphone?
About three to four times at room temperature (rated 13,500 mAh). Fewer in extreme cold as usable capacity drops. The insulation bag helps maximise capacity.
How do I check the charge level of the Nitecore Summit 20000?
LED indicator in 4 stages (25 % per LED). Briefly press the power button. All 4 LEDs lit = 100 %.
What warranty applies to the Nitecore Summit 20000?
Nitecore manufacturer warranty plus 2-year statutory warranty in Switzerland. Swiss-Sale.ch handles claims directly.
Why buy the Nitecore Summit 20000 from Swiss-Sale.ch?
Swiss-Sale.ch is an official Swiss retailer for Nitecore. Fast shipping, no customs, local warranty, personal advice. Orders before 17:00 dispatched same business day.
