Magnesium Housing · XD Fluorite
Magnesium meets fluorite – why the Genesis 10.5x44 sets the benchmark for field optics
Magnesium is lighter than aluminium and dampens vibrations more effectively – ideal for a binocular worn around the neck for hours. Inside this housing, KOWA has placed their PROMINAR optics with two XD fluorite lenses and KR coating: the result is colour-fringe-free images with sharpness and colour fidelity unmatched in the 44 mm class. The 4.2 mm exit pupil and 10.5x magnification offer the perfect balance between detail resolution and image brightness.
PROMINAR XD fluorite – how two fluorite lenses eliminate colour fringing
Chromatic aberration is the greatest enemy of sharp images. KOWA’s PROMINAR formula uses two XD fluorite lenses that virtually eliminate colour errors at edges and high-contrast transitions. Combined with the phase-corrected roof prism and KR coating, the optical system produces fringe-free images with natural colour rendition even in backlit conditions – critical for species identification during birdwatching.
Hours of fatigue-free observation – ergonomics and weather protection
The Genesis 10.5x44 is designed for extended observation sessions. Its 165 mm length sits comfortably in the hand, the rubber armouring provides a secure grip, and 16 mm eye relief makes it spectacle-wearer friendly. Waterproof and nitrogen-filled, it withstands rain, snow and extreme temperature changes. Whether on a hide in the Swiss Alps or a lakeside blind – the Genesis 10.5x44 is ready for every field situation.
