LEDX Lights is a Swedish brand that has been specialising in the development and production of high-performance headlamps since 2009. Founded by Anders Johansson – a passionate orienteer – in Uppsala, LEDX was born from the need for a headlamp that outperforms everything on the market. Today, LEDX headlamps are the benchmark for professionals in orienteering, trail running, mountain biking, cross-country skiing and industrial applications. It all began in autumn 2009, when Anders Johansson tested his first prototype – affectionately called the “Ur-Cobran” – during a stormy night orienteering race. What started as an improvised project quickly became a calling. In 2011, the Cobra II followed as a key milestone with a wide and long beam pattern, low weight and high reliability. In 2014, LEDX launched a complete product family comprising the Kaa, Mamba and Cobra – plus accessories – as a compatible system. Today, LEDX is in its fourth generation (G4), setting new benchmarks with models such as the Cobra G4 at 7,000 lumens and the Mamba X-pand G4 at 4,500 lumens.
LEDX develops and manufactures all headlamps in Sweden. This means complete control over every single production step – from the LED module and electronics through to the finished housing. Unlike many competitors, LEDX does not rely on contract manufacturing in Asia but on its own specialists and short supply chains. The result: consistently high quality, rapid innovation cycles and a 3-year warranty on all products – a promise that is only possible when every detail is under your own control.
LEDX relies on a modular system: lamp heads and battery packs are interchangeable. This means you can use the same battery with different lamps or extend runtime by upgrading to a larger battery pack. The current Generation 4 line-up comprises four main models: the Snok at 2,000 lumens as a compact entry point, the Mamba X-pand G4 at 4,500 lumens as a versatile all-rounder, and the Cobra G4 as the flagship with 7,000 lumens and a beam distance of 400 metres. All models feature a wide, even beam pattern optimised for fast movement across terrain.
The quality and innovative strength of LEDX is also recognised by the industry. The Mamba X-pand G4 was honoured with the ISPO Award 2023 – as an outstanding product in the outdoor lighting category. The Snok received the Scandinavian Outdoor Award. These accolades confirm that LEDX excels not only in the orienteering niche but also sets new standards in the broader outdoor market.
