The Nitecore UM2 is a USB charger with 2 independent slots that automatically detects the inserted cell and applies the right charging programme. It charges both rechargeable Li-ion round cells (for flashlights, head torches or cameras) and classic Ni-MH and Ni-Cd cells in AA and AAA – taking away the question of which charger suits which battery.

The Nitecore UM2 is powered through a Micro-USB input, so it charges not only at the wall socket but also from a power bank, laptop or car USB. Quick Charge keeps charging times short, and the LCD shows voltage, current, capacity and internal resistance in real time. Note: this is the predecessor version with a Micro-USB port (not USB-C).
Which batteries does the Nitecore UM2 charge? – broad cell compatibility
The Nitecore UM2 is built for versatility and charges Li-ion/IMR/LiFePO4 (10440–26700, incl. 18650, 20700, 21700) plus Ni-MH/Ni-Cd in AA, AAA, AAAA, C, D. You never set voltage by hand: the charger detects chemistry and size automatically and selects charge current and termination voltage accordingly. So you charge cells from a flashlight, radio, camera, mouse or toy with a single device – each slot working independently.

Charging should be safe. The Nitecore UM2 monitors every slot individually and offers reverse-polarity protection, short-circuit protection, overcharge protection and a timed cut-off.
