Four light sources in one body – the modular search light

The LR50R V2.0 combines four dedicated light sources for different tasks: spot channel (3× SST70, up to 9,000 lumens, 846 m reach) for distance search and concentrated observation – ideal for woodland search, long-distance wildlife observation, tracker missions. Flood channel (3× SST70, up to 9,000 lumens) for wide-area illumination – ideal for camp lighting, accident scene lighting, large-area inspection. Both simultaneously delivers 18,000 lumens maximum output. UV channel (SBT10X, 365 nm, 10 W) for forensics (blood traces, body fluids), mushroom identification, wildlife tracking (urine traces), banknote and document authenticity checks, amber search. Red light channel (210 lm) for night-vision preserving operations.

OLED display – real-time data without guesswork

The OLED display on the body is the LR50R V2.0’s unique operational aid. It continuously shows: current light output in lumens, selected mode (spot/flood/combo/UV/red), cell state in percent, estimated remaining runtime (at current mode) and charge status while charging. Instead of guessing or interpreting blink codes, you always have precise real-time data. On a 6–8-hour SAR operation in woodland you always know when to conserve the light or swap the cell – critical for professional operations.

32,000 mAh cell block + USB-C output – emergency power bank included

The LR50R V2.0 cell block has 32,000 mAh capacity – roughly 6 smartphone batteries’ worth. By design the second USB-C port outputs up to 45 W – you can recharge smartphone, tablet, body cam or radio from the light. On a search mission or camp stay without power access, it’s a valuable multi-tool. The light itself charges via the first USB-C port at up to 18 W input – full in about 3 hours with a suitable fast charger.

Mechanical toggle + electronic switch – reliable under stress

The LR50R V2.0 has two switches: a mechanical toggle that selects main modes (spot/flood/UV/red), and an electronic push switch for on/off and mode-changing within the chosen light. This is tactically superior to lights with a single touch panel because you can identify the toggle position by finger touch even in the dark and under stress – no display eye contact needed. A lockout function prevents accidental activation during transport.

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions – Fenix LR50R V2.0

Find answers about the Fenix LR50R V2.0 search flashlight – from UV light through OLED display, power bank function and spot/flood combination to Swiss shipping.

How bright is the LR50R V2.0 really?
At full combo mode the LR50R V2.0 delivers 18,000 lumens from 6× Luminus SST70 LEDs – spot and flood channels work in parallel at 9,000 lumens each. In pure spot mode beam distance reaches 846 m – enough to identify a person across a full football stadium length. This is search-light class, not flashlight class.
What is the UV light for?
The SBT10X UV LED works at 365 nm wavelength with 10 W optical output – that’s long-wave UV (UV-A), harmless for short use. UV light makes many materials fluoresce: blood traces (visible even after cleaning), body fluids, animal urine, certain minerals (amber, fluorite), counterfeit markers on banknotes and documents, scorpions (glow green under UV), certain fungi, moth damage on fabrics. Used in forensics, hunting wound tracking, mineral search, antiquities authentication.
What does the OLED display show?
The OLED display continuously shows: current light output in lumens, active mode (spot/flood/combo/UV/red), cell state in percent, estimated remaining runtime based on current consumption, charge state and progress while charging, plus warnings (temperature, low cell). You always have precise real-time data instead of having to interpret blink codes.
How does the power bank function work?
The LR50R V2.0 has two USB-C ports: the first charges the light itself (up to 18 W input), the second outputs power to external devices (up to 45 W). You can recharge smartphone, tablet, body cam, radio or other USB-C devices from the light – at 32,000 mAh capacity that’s roughly 6–8 phone full-charges. On a multi-day operation in woodland without power access this is valuable backup. Note: with power bank active, the light’s own runtime drops accordingly.
How long is runtime per mode?
At 18,000 lumens output, runtime is short: about 50–90 minutes on combo full-power (step-down due to heat). At 1,000-lumen level (one channel at medium) about 6–8 hours. On the lowest setting up to 195 hours max runtime. UV consumes about 10 W – at 32,000 mAh that’s correspondingly several hours. The OLED display shows you real remaining time based on current consumption.
How long does charging take?
With an 18 W USB-C PD adapter (fast charger) about 3 hours for full charge. With a 5 V/2 A standard adapter significantly longer (8–12 hours). For professional use we recommend a USB-PD adapter that can deliver at least 18 W. The OLED display shows charge progress in percent.
Is UV light dangerous?
365 nm UV-A (long-wave UV) is much less dangerous than UV-B (sunlight) and UV-C (disinfection). Short exposure to skin and eyes is mostly non-critical. Even so: never look directly into the UV LED or the UV beam, prolonged exposure can cause corneal damage. For extended UV use (>30 minutes) we recommend UV protection glasses. For your viewing what’s interesting is the fluorescence – not the UV light itself.
What warranty does the LR50R V2.0 have?
Fenix grants a Limited Lifetime Warranty: 15-day exchange for manufacturing defects, 5-year free repair for material and workmanship defects in normal use (cell/accessories: 1 year), then lifetime repair against material costs. Additionally, 2-year Swiss statutory warranty applies. Swiss-Sale.ch handles warranty cases directly in Switzerland.
What professional missions is the LR50R V2.0 ideal for?
Search and rescue (missing person search in woodland, mountain rescue, water rescue shore search), hunting wardens (UV for wound trail tracking), police and forensics (UV for evidence collection), antiquities verifiers (UV for counterfeit detection), mushroom foragers (UV for certain species), amber collectors (UV identification), pro expedition teams (multi-function + power bank). For normal EDC at 1.15 kg it’s far too heavy.
How fast does Swiss-Sale.ch ship the Fenix LR50R V2.0?
Orders placed before 17:00 are usually shipped the same business day. We ship via Swiss Post. Delivery within Switzerland takes 1–2 business days. From CHF 100 order value shipping is free.
Why buy the Fenix LR50R V2.0 at Swiss-Sale.ch?
Swiss-Sale.ch is an official Swiss specialist for Fenix products. You benefit from fast shipping out of Switzerland (no customs, no waiting), personal expert advice and warranty handling directly in Switzerland.
What should I keep in mind using the 18,000-lumen light?
At 18,000 lumens the dazzle hazard is extreme – never aim the light at others’ eyes or your own. In road traffic (bike, car) the LR50R V2.0 is absolutely too bright and can endanger other road users – don’t use as bike light. Under prolonged full-power use the light gets hot – carry with gloves or shoulder strap. With UV use never look directly into the beam, prolonged use with UV protection glasses. With submersion use (IP68) no sudden temperature changes (e.g. hot light into cold water) – seal stress.
