2× Quad-Core MCT UHE LEDs

Three colour temperatures in one light – pick the right one for the task

The EDC07 has two quad MCT (Multiple Color Temperatures) UHE LEDs with three different colour temperatures you can switch between at any time. 3,000 K warm white (CRI 97): excellent colour rendition – red berries look red, green leaves green, skin tones natural. Ideal for mushroom foragers, garden inspection, mineralogy hobby, photographers for light-scene pre-check. 4,500 K neutral white (CRI 83): the most pleasant mode for daily EDC – neither too warm nor too cool, good middle ground with high reach. 6,500 K cool white (CRI 73): maximum light output (1,500 lm) and reach (132 m) – ideal for distance search, camping path finding in the dark, tactical applications.

❄️ Cool CRI 73

17 mm thin – the true pocket format

Most EDC flashlights are cylindrical and noticeably thicker than a smartphone – they bulge in the pocket. The EDC07 is engineered differently: only 17 mm thick, 31 mm wide and 120 mm long – about the thickness of a credit-card power bank. It fits flat in any pocket without bulging, and its ergonomic form sits naturally in the hand. The body is high-strength polycarbonate with a stable stainless steel clip – significantly lighter than aluminium lights of comparable output (70 g vs. typical 150 g).

5 brightness levels per colour temperature – from 1 lumen ultralow to Turbo

Per colour temperature there are 5 brightness levels plus strobe and SOS: Turbo (1,300 lm in neutral, 1,500 lm in cool), High 260 lm, Mid 65 lm, Low 13 lm and Ultralow 1 lm. The Ultralow mode is ideal for non-blinding close-range applications: map reading at the campfire, searching in the tent without waking your tent-mate, room navigation without dazzling eyes. With 360-hour Ultralow runtime the light runs 15 days straight – ideal for multi-day treks or stockpile uses. On Turbo expect about 2 hours 15 minutes burn time (cool white).

Dual switch operation – M-button + tail cap

The EDC07 has two separate switches: an M-button (mode switch) on the side for mode change and colour temperature selection, and a tail cap switch at the rear for fast on/off. This is ergonomically superior to lights with a single switch because you don’t have to cycle through all modes to reach the brightness you want. The M-button gives direct access to specific functions without counting switch clicks. An LED battery status indicator on the body shows you remaining charge at all times.

IP67 + 2 m drop resistance – despite plastic body

Despite the light polycarbonate body, the EDC07 is rugged: IP67 protection (full dust and short submersion) and certified to 2 m drop height. High-strength polycarbonate absorbs impacts better than brittle aluminium, performs in cold (works down to -10 °C) and doesn’t corrode. Nitecore ATR (Advanced Temperature Regulation) auto-throttles LED power when the light gets too hot (protects LEDs from lifespan loss). APC (Advanced Power Cut-Off) prevents full cell discharge, significantly extending battery life.

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions – Nitecore EDC07

Find answers about the Nitecore EDC07 EDC flashlight – from the 3 colour temperatures through built-in cell, ATR/APC and protection ratings to Swiss shipping.

What are MCT UHE LEDs?
MCT stands for ‘Multiple Color Temperatures’ – a Nitecore-proprietary LED technology with several colour temperatures in one LED. UHE means ‘Ultra High Efficiency’. The EDC07 has two Quad-Core MCT UHE LEDs – each with four integrated light systems for three colour temperatures (3,000 K, 4,500 K, 6,500 K) plus integrated reflector optics. This compact LED architecture enables 1,500-lumen output in a 17 mm flat body.
How do I switch between the 3 colour temperatures?
You switch via the M-button (mode switch on the side) – see manual for exact button sequence. Typically: turn on via tail cap, then hold M-button for about 2 seconds to enter colour temperature selection. Then cycle between 3,000 K (warm), 4,500 K (neutral) and 6,500 K (cool) with short M-button clicks. The chosen colour temperature is saved and active on next switch-on.
What is the CRI value?
CRI (Color Rendering Index) measures how well a light source renders true colours of objects – on a 0–100 scale. Sunlight is CRI 100. CRI 97 (warm white) is excellent – red berries truly look red, no olive green. CRI 83 (neutral white) is good – sufficient for most general-purpose applications. CRI 73 (cool white) is lower – in exchange for maximum light output. The choice is a trade-off: maximum colour fidelity (warm white CRI 97) or maximum brightness (cool white CRI 73).
How long does the EDC07 take to charge?
With a 5 V/1 A USB-C adapter about 2 hours for a full charge. With a stronger adapter somewhat faster, but Nitecore doesn’t specify maximum input power – a normal 5 V/2 A smartphone adapter is ideal. Note: the built-in 1,500 mAh cell is not replaceable – that’s a deliberate design compromise for the 17 mm flat construction.
How long does one cell charge last?
The 360-hour max runtime applies to the Ultralow mode (1 lumen). Practically: on Turbo (1,500 lm cool white) about 2 hours 15 minutes. On High (260 lm) about 2 hours 45 minutes. On Mid (65 lm) about 11 hours. On Low (13 lm) about 52 hours. With moderate use mixing different levels you can go days to weeks on one charge.
What does ATR and APC mean?
Nitecore ATR (Advanced Temperature Regulation) is a temperature sensor on the LED board: if the LED gets above 60 °C, the light auto-dims to protect the LED from lifespan loss. APC (Advanced Power Cut-Off) is a cell protection circuit: it prevents complete discharge of the Li-Ion cell (deep discharge permanently damages Li-Ion cells). When critical voltage is reached, the light automatically switches off. Both functions are standard on premium flashlights.
How does the EDC07 differ from aluminium flashlights?
The EDC07 uses high-strength polycarbonate (PC) instead of 6061 aluminium. Advantages: Significantly lighter (70 g vs typical 130–180 g for similar aluminium lights), better impact absorption (PC absorbs energy, alu dents), no electrical conductivity, cold-capable. Disadvantages: Lower mechanical stiffness under heavy load (e.g. prying), at very high temperatures PC can deform. For EDC applications the advantages clearly outweigh the disadvantages.
What applications is the EDC07 ideal for?
Optimal for: daily EDC carry (flat, light), outdoor hiking and camping (3 colour temperatures for different tasks), photo pre-checks (CRI 97 warm white), mushroom foraging (colour fidelity), hobby workshop (detail work with neutral white), bike wrenching, emergency lighting. Less suited: extreme high-output tactical applications (better aluminium lights with 21700 cell), bushcraft with prying.
What warranty does the Nitecore EDC07 have?
Nitecore grants 5 years manufacturer warranty on material and workmanship defects under normal use. Additionally, 2-year Swiss statutory warranty applies. The cell counts as a wear part and is typically limited to 1 year. Swiss-Sale.ch handles warranty cases directly in Switzerland.
How fast does Swiss-Sale.ch ship the Nitecore EDC07?
Orders placed before 17:00 are usually shipped the same business day. We ship via Swiss Post. Delivery within Switzerland takes 1–2 business days. From CHF 100 order value shipping is free.
Why buy the Nitecore EDC07 at Swiss-Sale.ch?
Swiss-Sale.ch is an official Swiss specialist for Nitecore products. You benefit from fast shipping out of Switzerland (no customs, no waiting), personal expert advice and warranty handling directly in Switzerland.
What should I keep in mind using the 1,500-lumen light?
At 1,500 lumens the dazzle effect is significant – never aim the light deliberately at others’ eyes or your own. For road use as bike light: dim carefully (Low or Mid) so as not to blind other road users. With extended turbo use the body gets warm – that’s normal and part of the ATR protection. Don’t use strobe mode in normal illumination situations – it can trigger epileptic reactions. For Swiss law: the EDC07 isn’t a weapon and isn’t subject to restrictions.
