The Kestrel 3500 pocket weather meter is a small device that measures wind speed and temperature. The wind meter is equipped with an extremely precise jewel bearing and a lightweight propeller, which allows it to measure wind speed or air flow very accurately, even at low speeds. The Ø25mm impeller made of anodized aluminum can be easily replaced. The anemometer displays speed, maximum speed, and average speed in the desired unit; these functions are normally only available on much more expensive devices. The large digits are very easy to read. The anemometer also displays the temperature in °C and calculates the wind chill temperature to ± 2°C (wind chill).
Power is supplied by a standard lithium battery, which can be easily replaced and lasts for up to 400 operating hours under typical use. The vane anemometer also has an auto power off function (the device switches off after 45 minutes of inactivity).
The Kestrel pocket anemometer is molded from impact-resistant plastic and made of corrosion-resistant materials; the electronics are completely sealed. In addition, the instrument floats if it accidentally falls into water. A hard-shell case provides protection when not in use, and a cord is also provided for safety. The liquid crystal display has 8 mm digits for easy readability.
