SwissPiranha stands for ultra-lightweight tent pegs from Switzerland – designed and manufactured by Beat Wietlisbach, an experienced plastics specialist with a passion for the outdoors and innovation. Every single peg is produced in Switzerland and combines low weight, high holding power and maximum safety. The RedTrout line is SwissPiranha’s flagship. Made from PiranhaNT (PC+ABS), a high-performance plastic, the red pegs offer an impressive combination of strength and lightness. Four sizes cover every application: the RT90 at just 3 g for trekking tents and tarps, the RT120 at 7 g as a versatile all-rounder, the RT150 at 15 g for demanding conditions and the RT220 at 34 g for family tents and awnings. All RedTrout pegs feature the patented X-Beam profile, which significantly increases holding power compared to conventional plastic pegs.
PiranhaNT is a technical high-performance plastic based on PC+ABS, developed specifically for the demands of outdoor use. It requires roughly 13 times less energy to manufacture than aluminium yet remains remarkably strong and tough. Should a peg break nonetheless, it can be repaired in a conventional oven at 160 °C – a unique sustainability feature that extends the lifespan of every single product.
The BlackFisk line is fully committed to sustainability: made from PiranhaREC, a 100 % recycled plastic, the black pegs offer an environmentally conscious alternative without compromising performance. The BF120 and BF150 models are suited for camping, trekking and everyday tent use. If you value the circular economy and want to minimise your ecological footprint, BlackFisk is the series for you.
With the GreenShark line, SwissPiranha goes one step further: PiranhaBT is a 100 % bio-based plastic of plant origin, GMO-free and industrially compostable.
