Tentsile has revolutionised camping: since 2012 the British company has been developing tree tents and giant hammocks that are suspended between trees – above the ground, above moisture, insects and uneven terrain. What began as the vision of London architect Alex Shirley-Smith – inspired by the Ewok village from Star Wars – is today the world’s leading brand for suspended camping solutions. At Swiss-Sale.ch you will find selected Tentsile accessories such as drink holders and floor hatch covers to complete your tree tent experience.
At the heart of Tentsile are the tree tents: from the compact Flite for two people through the Connect and the legendary Stingray to the enormous Universe for up to six people. All models use the patented 3-point anchoring system with ratchet tensioning straps that secure the tents firmly between three trees. Anti-roll technology prevents lateral tipping, and thanks to ground conversion kits every tree tent can also be used as a conventional ground tent. The standard line offers 2,500 hours of UV resistance and a 5,000 mm hydrostatic head.
Alex Shirley-Smith, a trained architect in London, dreamed of a tree house you could take anywhere. In 2012 he founded Tentsile and launched the first tree tent – a tent that hovers between trees like a spider. What started as a Kickstarter project is now a global brand with dozens of models, a Safari line for commercial use and a sustainability pledge: 20 trees are planted for every product sold – over one million trees to date.
Alongside tree tents, Tentsile offers giant hammocks for groups and families. The Trillium supports up to 400 kg and stretches a triangular lying surface between three trees – perfect as a lounge, lookout point or additional storage platform beneath a tree tent. The Trillium XL extends the surface area significantly. Both models can be stacked with the Connect and Stingray series tree tents – for multi-level tree camp setups reminiscent of a genuine tree-house village.
For safari lodges, eco-resorts and commercial camping operations, Tentsile developed the Safari line. It features reinforced 600D Dacron fabric, 3,500 hours of UV resistance and an 8,000 mm hydrostatic head. Safari models are designed for permanent setup over weeks and months, offering enhanced comfort with reinforced seams and additional attachment points. They are the choice for anyone wishing to offer tree tent experiences professionally.
What sets Tentsile apart from other camping brands is modularity: tree tents can be stacked on top of one another, combined with Trillium hammocks and expanded via connecting ladders into multi-level tree camps. Every tent can also be used on the ground without trees thanks to the ground conversion kit. The accessory range – from drink holders and floor hatch covers to insect nets – completes the system.
